Restorative Yoga postures gently open your body in restful postures with the use of supportive props, breathing and meditative techniques to give you maximum comfort and relaxation. It allows you to recover and rejuvenate from the daily stresses of life by releasing tense muscles, relieving joint aches, and calming your mind. The use of props makes it easier for you to maintain balance while you are stimulating and relaxing your body.
Restorative yoga works to create neutrality in the body. The class is floor- based, with each pose being held for longer periods of time assisted by the use of props (such as blankets, bolsters and blocks). This allows the body the opportunity to release tension in a safe and relaxed environment. This class incorporates the therapeutic elements of aromatherapy, hands on assistance and soothing music.
Restorative Yoga allows for total relaxation bringing equilibrium to the nervous system. By surrendering to stillness, the mind and body will be fully able to receive breath creating true relaxation. This combination will open the practitioner to experience benefits on a physical, mental and energetic level.
No yoga experience required.
